Start of book thoughts

So far on the book I have a few thoughts and questions.At the very start when Eragon found the "stone" I thought it might be an egg for a dragon because there is a dragon on the cover. Turns out that prediction was right. So far I think the theme is survival because that is all the charecters seem to care about. That also fits in with the main conflict which is Eragon trying to survive and I think that is person vs. nature. Also I noticed that the book is written in third person. I have a question about the setting. Do you think this book takes place in Medevil times or is more modern?

    I agree with everything you said, except I'm pretty sure that this story takes place in a completely different world. Also, you're stupid, of course the hollow stone was an egg

    if you look at the map at the map of alagaesia at the beginning of the book it doesnt resemble any continent in our world... What I mean by different world is everything including the settong is fiction, unlike harry potter inwhich part of the setting is real (London)
