Ending Thoughts on the Odyssey and connections to Eragon
I really liked this book even though I did not think I would. I liked that started out with Odysseus telling his story after the Trojan war and that led up to the present where he went home and finished his adventure. I also liked how Odysseus was not only strong and brave, but he was smart to. He could have just found his wife and ran away with her, but he figured out a plan and stuck to it and in the end it worked out. Odysseus never really grew up and liked another charecter more and more as the story went on. He really just loved a few things from the start. His home land, his wife, and his son. This book I think had some connections to Eragon. First it was based on really one main charecter from the start and there adventure to survive. There is also a huge diffrence, in Eragon when Eragon's dragon egg hatched that changed his life and the whole dirrection of the story. One moment he was living on a farm, the next he was going to fight the Ra-Zac. In the Odyssey there was no major changin point. He just kept on trying to get home after the Trojan war. Another connection is that both the main charecters fought for what was right and not for evil. Eragon fought for the Elves so the Empire could not control them and Odysseus fought for justice for his family so they could live together again. I really liked this project and how the bloging made me get into and think more about the book.

First Odyssey Post
So I am about a quater way through the book and so far I have liked it even though I did not think I would. I am not a huge fan of Greek Mythology but I do like a few of the stories and it seems like Homer has wrote all my favorites in this book. I was confused the part where he is reveling his story. I don't get where he is and how he got there. Can you explain it to me? I also think Odyusses is a great hero/main charecter. He is strong, brave, and smart. What is your favorite parts of the book so far?

Odyssey
Do you think the Odyssey is good so far? Is it hard to understand the language since it is different from how we normally talk?

The End
I was starting to lose interest in the book in the middle but the action picked up in the end and I got more interested. I think it was a predictable ending that he would kill the Shade, they would win the war, and Eragon would be the hero. So I thought it was not a very good ending. All though the ending did want me to read the next book so the author did a good job with the ending. I think Eragon connected with Murtagh and Brom in kind of the same way. He did not trust either when he first meet them but trusted them more as the book went on. But you can tell he had more of a connection with Brom. You can tell when he said that Brom would be proud of him killing the Shade but he did not think Murtagh in the end at all. This book was a good read and I am glad I read it and I think I will read the other two books.
The Varden
I think that the relationship between Eragon and The Varden was strained from the beginning, because the varden didnt trust Murtagh. I think that this relationship will get much better once Eragon realizes that Murtagh doesn't really feel like he's being "imprisoned", as Eragon first thought. Also, I think that Eragon could probably bring the Dwarves, Elves, and Varden together to help fight the war against the Empire. Although, Eragon and his followers will be screwed if Galbatorix finds someone that will make the Eggs that he is holding to hatch.

Waiting for Zach
Im bored, lets sing....
Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train going anywhere
A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers, waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Paying anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
Don't stop believing
Hold on to that feeling
Streetlight people
Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train going anywhere
A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night

The Epic Journey
Now that Brom is dead i think that Eragons journey will be more "fun". I think eragon will fly with saphira more and Murtagh wont be as tough on him about practicing magic every night and other stuff like that. Also I think that it may actually be good for eragon now that brom is dead. The journey to the varden will probably go much faster because there will be one less body to carry. Once the weird elf lady wakes up i think that she will know exactly how to get into the varden and the journey will be over extremely quickly. I think Morzans sword (the one eragons carrying) will be a huge conflict throughout the rest of the book.
